Working paper. Japanese-only micro-entry from Charge_SoFi_How_Much_GroupA_Derivations (Japanese §4) and the Group A paragraph of Lexical_Entry_Charge_Argument_Structure, sharing √CHARGE_FEE geometry with the English chargeFEE page. It does not restamp those DOCX files. Constructed diagnostics diagnose particles, #P, and Appl_FROM; they are not spontaneous-speech citations and they are not new elicitation. Mandarin / Navajo rows in the same derivation are pointed only.
Constructed examples. Frames below are the derivation’s Japanese interface strings and the lexical entry’s Case clothes, aligned with Watanabe #P. Debit-true / OWE of ⟨n,U⟩ on the Payer is e2. Payment-true is a later payGIVE (harau), not a default of this root. Do not fake elicitation.
Beyond Index 2. Index 2 does not list charge, and it does not list Japanese under Payment. Like sell · Japanese and payGIVE · Japanese, this root sits Beyond Index 2 as a Group A sense×language page. Neighbouring Index 2 classes (Risk / kakeru) are not a translation of chargeFEE.
Scout / deferred. ni vs o on an overt Payer is still register-open (lexical entry: ni or o by register). This tick logs ni and silent Payer from the SoFi derivation; it does not close o-Payer. Mandarin 收…费 / 向…收费 and Navajo levy-stem packaging remain speculation/scout. Companion chāji-suru is the same geometry, not a second root and not a second elicitation.

Hierarchy

Same inventory as English chargeFEE. Not four-place. Surface count can name SoFi, Pat, twenty dollars, and a bitcoin, but the lexicon does not list four co-arguments of √CHARGE_FEE. The light noun is seikyū; it is not a second root.

Intended labeling (shared with English)

√CHARGE_FEE + ApplFROM(Payer/Source, MeasureP ⟨n,U⟩) + Consideration PP

Voice introduces Chargor (ga). Low ApplFROM introduces Payer/Source — often silent, or spelled ni. MeasureP ⟨n, U⟩ is Incremental Theme of the debit, one object: Japanese #P with Amount in Spec and #° the unit (円 / ドル, en / doru), Case o on the whole #P. Consideration is no daikin-to-shite / no tame / de — a PP, not a second o. Light noun 請求 (seikyū) plus する (suru). Past spells seikyū-shita; the shell writes the verbalizer as seikyū-shi-ta (shi + -ta).

$20 = nijū-doru = one MeasureP. Orthography / #P morphology is not extra arity. Amount and Denomination are both inner arguments of that object. Composition is V(#P), not V(n)(U). 円 and ドル are Watanabe # heads, not verbal sisters. There is no fifth argument “currency.”

Geometry is 1+2 with optional outer Consideration: one Initiator, one applied Source, one measuring object. That is the FROM dual of harau’s Appl_HAVE. It is not English DOC copied as two o Themes, not bet’s 1+3, and not uru’s HAVE-goods + de-Price.

Working hierarchy: Chargorga > Payer/Sourceni / silent > MeasureP ⟨n,U⟩o (> Consideration PP). o-Payer (MeasureP implicit) is a register the lexical entry leaves open; it is not logged as a result here, and it is not licensed together with o-MeasureP.

Companion チャージする (chāji-suru) is a loan light verb on the same √CHARGE_FEE cloth — Chargor ga, Payer ni or silent, MeasureP o. It is not a second root, not chargeACCOUNT, and not kokuhatsu.

Japanese frames · Case clothes

No English DOC flip into two accusative Themes. MeasureP stays one o. Payer is silent or ni (FROM). Consideration stays outside a second ACC. Double-o is not the cloth that makes Payer and MeasureP two Themes of one domain. Cheapness under a question tracks the o-#P unless the Payer or the Consideration is independently in focus. Strings below are constructed from the Group A derivation and the lexical entry; they are not field elicitation.

  1. ✓ SoFi-ga ni-fun-mae-ni bitkoin-no daikin-to-shite ikura seikyū-shita ka. Chargor ga · silent Payer · Consideration PP · ikura in situ · ka
  2. ✓ SoFi-ga Pat-ni nijū-doru-o seikyū-shita. ni Payer + o MeasureP
  3. ✓ Nijū-doru-o seikyū-shita. Payer silent; #P still one o
  4. ✓ SoFi-ga Pat-ni bitkoin-no daikin-to-shite nijū-doru-o seikyū-shita. Consideration · no daikin-to-shite · not a second o
  5. ✓ SoFi-ga Pat-ni bitkoin-no tame nijū-doru-o seikyū-shita. Consideration · no tame
  6. ✓ SoFi-ga Pat-ni bitkoin-de nijū-doru-o seikyū-shita. Consideration de · money stays o
  7. ✓ SoFi-ga Pat-ni nijū-doru-o chāji-shita. companion chāji-suru · same geometry
  8. ✓ Seikyūsho-o haratta. payBILL pointer — document ACC of harau, not this root
  9. * Pat-o nijū-doru-o seikyū-shita. Double-o · Payer + MeasureP as two ACC Themes · strongly degraded / not used
  10. * Pat-ni sagi-o seikyū-shita. ACCUSE cloth on FEE · see kokuhatsu

Canonical SoFi string (Group A Japanese interface · constructed)

✓ SoFi-ga ni-fun-mae-ni bitkoin-no daikin-to-shite ikura seikyū-shita ka.

No T-to-C. Polar/WH C is ka. ikura sits in Spec,#P and is bound in situ. The Payer is silent (x, the derivation’s silent ni). bitkoin-no daikin-to-shite is Consideration (代金として), not a second object and not uru’s Price. The #P is still one object. PF does not spell a trace of Amount beside a stranded unit.

payBILL contrast (sister — not this root)

✓ Seikyūsho-o harau. document ACC · 請求書

* Seikyūsho-o nijū-doru-o seikyū-shita. invoice noun ≠ MeasureP of √CHARGE_FEE

seikyūsho (請求書) is the bill noun. seikyūsho-o harau is payBILL: document ACC of harau, with the twenty as instrument under de when it appears. Shared seikyū- orthography does not merge the light verb of FEE with the document sister. See payGIVE · Japanese for the HAVE twin of that document frame.

ACCUSE cloth (wrong root)

* Pat-ni sagi-o seikyū-shita. Accusation as o-Theme on FEE

FEE’s ni is Payer/Source and FEE’s o is the #P of money. sagi (詐欺) is Accusation content. That cloth belongs on chargeACCUSE: kokuhatsu-suru / 告発する, Target o, content de (Pat-o sagi-de kokuhatsu-shita). The accuse page stars the inverse crash (*Dick-ni sagi-o kokuhatsu-shita — FEE cloth on ACCUSE). This star is ACCUSE cloth on FEE.

MeasureP WH · ikura / nan-doru / nan-en

WH forces Amount ≠ Denomination inside one Case object of o. Verbal WH sees the #P, not unit and degree as two objects of seikyū. Watanabe: Amount in Spec,#P, Denomination as #°, Case as o on the phrase. Japanese does not raise T to C. ka is the question C. Amount-WH is interpreted in situ (unselective binding), or the whole #P scrambles. A copy of the degree that leaves #° next to V is not generated.

  1. ✓ SoFi-ga ni-fun-mae-ni bitkoin-no daikin-to-shite ikura seikyū-shita ka. strategy B · degree WH · U bound · #° silent
  2. ✓ Nan-doru-o seikyū-shita ka. strategy A · Amount WH + # head ドル
  3. ✓ Nan-en-o seikyū-shita ka. strategy A · # head 円
  4. ✓ Ikura-o seikyū-shita ka. optional scramble of the whole #P · trace is the #P
  5. * Nani go-juu-o seikyū-shita ka. LBC / split · *what fifty
  6. * Ikura doru-o seikyū-shita ka. Amount-out · unit left beside V
  7. * Ikura SoFi-ga doru-o seikyū-shita ka. same split under scramble · doru-o stranded

ikura is the degree match to English how much: strategy B, U bound by context (dollar, yen), #° silent. nan-doru / nan-en copy the # head with the WH: strategy A, the pied-pipe of how many dollars / how many yen. Both are one object. nani go-juu-o (extract spelling go-juu; 五十) peels a sortal nani off a numeral remnant — the Japanese of *what fifty, underivable as a split of this #P. ikura doru-o is Amount-out: the degree leaves, and the unit stays as if it were the sister of seikyū-shita. The derivation’s chain, when there is a copy, is {#P2, t2} of the whole phrase. nan-doru-o scrambled is strategy A on that same t2. There is no Amount-trace inside #P with doru stranded.

In situ vs scramble (constructed · Group A §4)

ikura2 in Spec,#P; o on #P; daikin-PP; silent ni; SoFi-ga; -ta.

✓ [CP [TP SoFi-ga [VoiceP … [#P ikura]-o seikyū-shita]] ka] in situ · no Amount-trace

✓ [CP [TP ikura-o [TP SoFi-ga … t seikyū-shita]] ka] scramble of the whole #P

Denomination WH is a different question (nan-no tsūka-de / in what), not this Amount probe, and not a second object of seikyū.

Two constraints conspire on the stars: #P integrity (Amount in Spec,#P; the unit does not move alone and does not stay behind as sister of V), and Double-o (a Payer DP cannot become a second ACC Theme beside the #P). Rescues are ikura, nan-doru-o, and nan-en-o. The rescue does not make doru or en a sister of seikyū-shita.

Geometry · chargeFEE ≠ harau ≠ uru ≠ deduct ≠ kokuhatsu

In SoFi-ga Pat-ni nijū-doru-o seikyū-shita, Pat is the person the money comes FROM. In Pat-ni nijū-doru-o haratta, Pat is the person the money goes TO. Same letter ni. The Appl is not the same. Follow-ups flip.

Shells, ApplP, and Case

Base tree (Japanese cloth · Larson-shell sketch · seikyū-shi-ta)

VoiceP [ SoFi-ga
  (AdvP ni-fun-mae-ni)
  ApplP_FROM [ Pat-ni / x_PAYER [ Appl_FROM
    VP [ seikyū-shi-ta
      [ #P [ Amount nijū / ikura ] [ #° doru / en ] ]-o ] ] ]
  PP_Cons [ bitkoin-no daikin-to-shite / no tame / de ] ]

Voice introduces Chargor. Appl_FROM introduces Payer (overt ni, or silent x). The #P sits as Incremental Theme of the debit; o is on that phrase. Consideration attaches above the inner FROM and does not take a second o. There is no Recipient HAVE shell. Putting one in is how seikyū gets misread as harau. shi is the verbalizer (√SURU) on the light noun seikyū; -ta is T[PAST]. Spelled PF: seikyū-shita. The same shell hosts chāji-shi-ta.

SoFi interface (Group A · in situ · constructed)

[CP [TP SoFi-ga_1 [VoiceP t_1
      [AdvP ni-fun-mae-ni]
      [ApplP x_PAYER
        [VP [#P ikura_2]-o seikyū-shi-ta ]
        [PP bitkoin-no daikin-to-shite ]]] ka]]

Chain only if the #P scrambles: {ikura-o2, t2}, t2 the whole #P. No T-to-C. No copy of ikura that strands doru.

Japanese seikyū does not assign four structural Cases. Chargor is ga. Payer is ni or silent. MeasureP is one o. Consideration is inside P. Double-o (*Pat-o nijū-doru-o seikyū-shita) is the morphological ceiling on two ACC Themes: strongly degraded, and not the packaging the entry uses. English can look like a double object because Payer and MeasureP are both ACC on that cloth; Japanese does not reproduce that string as two o’s. o-Payer with the MeasureP dropped remains register-open — scout, not a second Theme slot filled in here.

Proto-roles are shell-local. Chargor is a partial Proto-Agent (SoFi, the shop, the meter). Payer is Proto-Source, not Proto-Recipient. MeasureP is Incremental Theme of the debit; Hom on ⟨n,U⟩. Denomination is the #° of that object, not a theta role of its own.

Neo-Davidsonian sketch (shared with the English entry)

∃e [ CHARGE(e)
  ∧ INIT(e, sofi)
  ∧ FROM(e, pat) /* or x, silent Payer */
  ∧ TH(e, ⟨20, doru⟩)
  ∧ CONSID(e, bitcoin) ]

e2: debit / OWE-state of ⟨n,U⟩ on the Payer. Payment-true is a later payGIVE (harau), not e2 of this root. The two-minute adverb is a runtime modifier, not a fifth lambda.

Voice filter (constructed · same filter as English)

✓ SoFi-ga Pat-ni nijū-doru-o seikyū-shita. institutional Initiator

* Tenki-ga Pat-ni nijū-doru-o seikyū-shita. weather fails Chargor

The English page’s *The weather charged Pat twenty dollars is this filter. It is not a new Japanese elicitation. Weather can be an ACCUSE Target on the sister root; it is not the Judge, and it is not the Chargor of FEE.

Underivables (Japanese)

  2. * Ikura doru-o seikyū-shita ka. Amount-out leaving the unit

Group A packaging · this tick Japanese only

Group A (English, Japanese, Mandarin, Navajo) recodes the FROM cloth of √CHARGE_FEE. It does not add a fifth GF. This tick is Japanese chargeFEE only. The English twin is live at charge-fee.html. Case on the Japanese page: #P under o (Spec Amount, #° 円/ドル); Payer silent or ni; Consideration PP; Chargor ga; light seikyū-suru and companion chāji-suru.

Groups B–D (Spanish cobrar, French facturer, and the rest of the lexical entry’s packaging list) stay on the English page as names. They are not deepened here.

Primary extract for this micro-entry is the Japanese derivation in the SoFi how-much Group A note (in-situ ikura, strategy A nan-doru, starred splits). Geometry is shared with the English lexical entry. #P packaging follows the Japanese counters companion. DOCX originals under the Tritransitive lit tree (lit/grok-tritransitive/files/). Strings on this page are constructed from those extracts, not spontaneous-speech citations.

Series placement: Japanese sense×language twin of English chargeFEE. Feeds WH-Raising of Denominations under Group A #P cloth, with the Incremental Theme the fee and the applied argument a Source. Does not reopen Type A / Type B causation-chain papers. Does not log chargeACCUSE into sprint Done (prior seed outside Done). Does not invent ZH/NV elicitation.
