Working paper. German micro-entry opening Group D FEE. Geometry is the English chargeFEE inventory: √CHARGE_FEE + ApplFROM(Payer/Source, MeasureP ⟨n,U⟩) + Consideration. Group D packaging is V2, two FEE cloths, and R-pronouns that resume a selected P. The strings below are the packaging hypotheses already written in Negative_Questions_Charge_GroupD_Germanic, the Group D derivation notes, and the denomination note’s Group D rows. They are not field elicitation.
Constructed examples. Every German string on this page is a constructed diagnostic from those notes. The denomination rows (Was berechnen Sie?, Womit belasten Sie?, In welcher Währung / worin, Was berechnen Sie für ein Bitcoin?, *Was zwanzig berechnen Sie?) are the printed Group D cells. The negative questions and the bracketed traces are packaging hypotheses aligned with Volume 7. Do not read them as a substitute for an elicited corpus. Debit-true / OWE of ⟨n,U⟩ on the Payer is e2. Payment-true is a later bezahlen / überweisen / payGIVE.
Beyond Index 2. Index 2 does not list charge. German Payment cites bezahlen, überweisen (Vol. 7) — not berechnen and not belasten. German Attitude cites beschuldigen, verantwortlich machen, zuschreiben. This root sits Beyond Index 2 as a measuring companion, beside live gutschreiben. Group C FEE stays closed on Hungarian, Bulgarian, and Polish.
Two cloths adopted · companion unfilled. Adopted from the Group D notes: cloth A is dative Payer + accusative MeasureP on berechnen; cloth B is accusative Payer or card + mit-Amount on belasten. in Rechnung stellen is named as companion phrasing of cloth A. No filled companion string is printed, so none is filed. für is Consideration. wegen and the genitive of anklagen / beschuldigen are ACCUSE content. V2 copies T. R-pronouns copy a leftover P. Neither copy is a theta. Not this page: Hungarian Focus, a Polish genitive rewrite of the QP, the Dutch complex predicate (live at in rekening brengen, not this lemma), Norwegian belaste (live; closes Group D), a German creditMERIT page beyond the live zuschreiben twin, and sell·Navajo. No credit-merit-bg.html and no credit-merit-pl.html.

Hierarchy

Same inventory as English chargeFEE and the live Group C twins. Not four-place. Surface count can name the workshop, Pat, twenty, euros, and a meal. The lexicon does not list four co-arguments of √CHARGE_FEE. Group D does not add a fourth argument. It adds V2 and R-pronouns, and it disagrees, inside German, on which dependent wears structural accusative.

Intended labeling (shared with English)

√CHARGE_FEE + ApplFROM(Payer/Source, MeasureP ⟨Amount, Denomination⟩) + für-Consideration

Voice introduces Chargor. Low ApplFROM introduces Payer/Source. MeasureP ⟨n, U⟩ is Incremental Theme of the debit, one measuring object. Amount and Denomination are inside that object. Consideration is what the debit is for, under für. Optional time is peripheral. Cloth A spells the Payer as dative and the MeasureP as accusative. Cloth B spells the Payer or the card as accusative and the Amount as a mit-PP. That Case flip is packaging of one FROM geometry.

The fee is one MeasureP. Amount and Denomination are inner arguments of that object. Composition is V(MeasureP), not V(n)(U). A bare Was answers the whole QP or a fee-type first. Denomination alone is the marked reading, reached by a currency menu (in welcher Währung / worin). It is not the first answer out of the blue.

Geometry is 1+2 with optional outer Consideration: one Initiator, one applied Source, one measuring object. Shared dative with zahlen is not ApplHAVE. V2 is a T-copy. It does not resume Euro minus zwanzig.

Working hierarchy: Chargor > Payer/Source > MeasureP ⟨n,U⟩ (> für-Consideration). Cloth A Case: Payer DAT, MeasureP ACC. Cloth B Case: Payer or card ACC, Amount in mit.

German frames · two FEE cloths

berechnen and belasten are the two FEE names the Group D notes print. They are not an aspect pair and not a HAVE/FROM pair. in Rechnung stellen may appear as companion phrasing of cloth A (the same dative Payer and accusative MeasureP). The notes do not print a filled in Rechnung stellen string, so this page does not invent one. anklagen and live beschuldigen are the ACCUSE pair, different roots. Do not merge them with the levy.

Cloth A · berechnen · DAT Payer + ACC MeasureP

Romance-like split. Cheap associate under NegQ is the money. wofür resumes Consideration, not the unit.

NegQ (2) · constructed · cheap associate = the money
NegQ (28) · constructed · ACC MeasureP · DAT ihm · no P on the QP
RBS–Chase note · constructed · Chase stays DAT · units stay in Coord · no unit trace
NegQ (92) · constructed · weather fails Chargor

Cloth B · belasten · ACC Payer or card + mit-Amount

English-like accusative plus PP. womit resumes the Amount. worauf resumes the card. The accusative human is Source, not a Recipient of HAVE.

NegQ (24) · constructed · card ACC · ACCOUNT-adjacent host of the same cloth
  3. ✓ Womit / Mit wie viel hat SoFi vor zwei Minuten für ein Bitcoin belastet? how-much note · constructed · Amount-WH is the mit-PP, not accusative wie viel
RBS–Chase note · constructed · Chase ACC · womit would resume mit, not Yen minus tausend
NegQ (70) · constructed · destination auf · chargeACCOUNT neighbour · not a second FEE root

Companion phrasing, unfilled

in Rechnung stellen is named with berechnen as cloth A. The German notes do not print a worked hat … in Rechnung gestellt string. None is added here. Dutch in rekening brengen is the live Group D continuation, not this lemma.

Sister roots

anklagen chargeACCUSE · different root · point to charge-accuse.html

NegQ (6) · constructed · ACC Target · GEN content

✓ Hat man Pat nicht wegen Betrugs angeklagt? NegQ (68) · constructed · wegen = ACCUSE content

beschuldigen is the live blame lemma at blame-de.html: accusative Target, Charge in the genitive, under wegen, or under dass. wegen there is Charge content. für on this page is FEE Consideration. The two letters are not one P. chargeACCOUNT (to-card destination) stays on charge-account.html. belasten can host the card; that does not open a German ACCOUNT micro-entry.

MeasureP WH / NegQ · denomination, R-pronouns, LBC

WH forces Amount ≠ Denomination inside one MeasureP. Verbal WH sees that object on cloth A. On cloth B the Amount is already inside mit, so the Amount question is womit / mit wie viel. R-pronouns follow the cloth. They follow the leftover P, not a fixed theta name. nicht does not rewrite the QP into a genitive. That rewrite is Polish, live at charge-fee-pl.html. There is no unique preverbal Focus host, so these questions are not Hungarian particle-separation.

  1. ✓ Was berechnen Sie? denomination note (41) · Group D row · QP or fee-type first · U marked
  2. ✓ Womit belasten Sie? denomination note (42) · cloth B · Amount as mit-PP · can be answered as a QP or, more readily, as U
  3. ✓ In welcher Währung / worin berechnen Sie? denomination note (43) · currency menu · λU · worin resumes in, not a unit minus n
  4. ✓ Was berechnen Sie für ein Bitcoin? denomination note (44) · dual · QP of the fee first · Consideration stays für
NegQ (27) · constructed · wofür = Consideration · not the unit
  6. ✓ Womit hat man Pat nicht belastet? NegQ (31) · constructed · womit = the mit-Amount
  7. ✓ Worauf hat man das Essen nicht belastet? NegQ (72) · constructed · worauf = the card · destination P
NegQ (33) / (54) · constructed · unit recoded as a PP
  9. * Was zwanzig berechnen Sie? denomination note (51) · LBC · underivable
  10. * Was zwanzig hat sie ihm nicht berechnet? NegQ (50) · constructed · same LBC under nicht
NegQ (29) · constructed · unit cannot ride out of Consideration für
NegQ (53) · constructed · degree out, unit stranded next to V
NegQ (30) · constructed · wofür does not decompose onto a unit remnant

Bare Was berechnen Sie? — three readings (denomination note)

QP (default): the whole MeasureP. A good answer is Zwanzig Euro.

FEE-type: a sortal name of the fee. The note’s answer is Eine Gebühr. That is not U of ⟨n,U⟩.

U (marked): denomination only, via the currency menu. The note’s bare-unit reply Euro is the marked reading; the better spelling it prints is in Euro. Womit belasten Sie? accepts a unit answer more readily because mit has already recoded the MeasureP as a PP. That is still one object, not a verbal unit-sister.

The how-much derivation writes cloth A as [CP wie-viel2 [C' hatT [TP SoFi1 [T' tT [VoiceP t1 [VP [MeasureP t2 U] [für ein Bitcoin] berechnet]]]]]]. Chains are {SoFi1, t1} INIT, {hatT, tT} V2 / PAST, {wie viel2, t2} ACC Amount. Cloth B copies the mit-PP: [CP womit2 [C' hatT [TP SoFi1 [T' tT [VoiceP t1 [VP [DP x] [PP t2] belastet]]]]]]. wo- resumes mit. These brackets are the derivation note’s traces. They are not an interview.

Superiority in the NegQ note ranks Chargor and the accusative object above Consideration. It does not rank Amount against Denomination as two verbal WH targets. Multiple WH Wer hat wem wie viel wofür berechnet? is printed there as preferring Agent-initial. It is a constructed packaging line, not an elicited superiority paradigm, and it is not Hungarian Focus uniqueness.

Geometry · chargeFEE beside the live German roots

In the FEE geometry the Payer is the person the money comes FROM. e2 is debit / OWE of ⟨n,U⟩ on that Payer. A later payment does not have to be true for the levy to be true. Shared dative letters with pay do not flip FROM into HAVE.

Passives, in the passives cut, are a Voice test and not a new argument. The cut’s map: on belasten the former accusative Payer can promote and the Amount stays a mit-PP; on berechnen the former accusative MeasureP can promote and the Payer stays dative. Consideration does not promote. No filled German passive paradigm is printed in that cut, so none is filed here. The map is a packaging prediction, not an elicited werden-paradigm.

Shells, ApplP, and Case

Merge Merge

Chargor, Payer, and MeasureP are selected. The MeasureP merges under √CHARGE_FEE as one object. Amount and Denomination are inside it. für merges Consideration. On cloth B, mit merges the same MeasureP as a PP. No double object of two bare Themes and no ApplHAVE of goods.

Agree Agree

Cloth A: v agrees with the MeasureP (accusative); the Payer is dative. Cloth B: v agrees with the Payer or the card (accusative); the Amount is inside mit. nicht does not switch that object to genitive.

Move Move

V2 copies finite hat or finite V to C. That chain is {hatT, tT}, not a theta. Amount on cloth A copies to Spec,CP and leaves t2 in the MeasureP. An R-pronoun copies a PP. It does not extract U from n. There is no Hungarian Focus slot.

Filter Filter

Voice: weather is not a Chargor. The filter survives Neg. Gold e2 is debit / OWE, not payment. V2 and R-pronouns are not a fourth argument. anklagen / beschuldigen are different roots. wegen ≠ für.

  1. M1√CHARGE_FEE merges with MeasureP ⟨Amount, Denom⟩
  2. M2ApplFROM merges Payer · DAT on cloth A · ACC on cloth B
  3. M3Voice merges Chargor
  4. A4Cloth A: v ↔ MeasureP ACC · Cloth B: v ↔ Payer/card ACC, Amount in mit
  5. V5V2 · {hatT, tT} · not a theta chain
  6. V6WH or R-pronoun fronts · unit stays inside MeasureP
  7. F7Voice filter · weather ≠ Chargor
  8. G8Gold · debit / OWE ≠ bezahlen · LBC holds · no fourth argument

  ∧ TH(e, ⟨n, U⟩) ∧ CONSID(e, z_BTC)
  ∧ τ(e) ⊆ [t* − 2 min, t*) ]

e2: debit / OWE-state of ⟨n,U⟩ on the Payer. Payment-true is a later bezahlen / überweisen. The mit-frame changes the exponent of M. It does not change FROM. V2 does not add a conjunct.

Voice introduces Chargor. ApplFROM introduces Payer. MeasureP sits as Incremental Theme of the debit. Consideration attaches under für. There is no Recipient HAVE shell, no Hungarian verb-modifier slot, and no English double object of two bare Themes on cloth A. Cloth B’s accusative Payer is still Source. Putting HAVE, a stranded unit, or a third accusative Consideration into either cloth is how a four-place accident gets written.

Proto-roles are shell-local. Chargor is a partial Proto-Agent (workshop, bank, meter, script). Payer is Proto-Source, not Proto-Recipient. MeasureP is Incremental Theme of the debit. Denomination is not a further theta role. An R-pronoun is not a theta role.

Group D packaging · German FEE opens the set

Group D (German, Dutch, Norwegian) is the V2 / R-pronoun set already named on chargeFEE · English. Same hierarchy as the English levy. Group C is closed: Hungarian felszámol (Focus and fel-), Bulgarian таксувам (WH clusters; за Consideration), Polish obciążyć / naliczyć (genitive of negation on the measuring QP). This page is German FEE only, and it opens Group D FEE. Dutch in rekening brengen is live and continues the set. Norwegian belaste is live and closes the set (med-Amount; ta betalt named and unfilled; siktet stays ACCUSE). anklagen stays on chargeACCUSE. Live beschuldigen stays on blame-de.html.

Against Group B, cloth A is the same dative-Payer, accusative-MeasureP pattern Romance already writes. Group D adds cloth B and replaces en/ne with R-pronouns. What sits in C is V2 hat, not a Romance finite-verb copy. worin extracts in. It does not extract the denomination. belasten is the same FROM root as berechnen, with a different Case exponent — the comparison note’s split, Polish cloth B spelled as a mit-PP.
