Working paper. German micro-entry opening Group D FIN. Group D blame is already closed (DE beschuldigen, NL de schuld geven, NO legge skylden på). Geometry from Lexical_Entry_Credit_Argument_Structure (FIN half) and NegQ association maps from Negative_Questions_Credit, sharing √CREDIT_LEDGER with the live English, Romance, Japanese, and Mandarin twins and the FROM dual deduct. The live DE pages already keep the roots apart: creditMERIT · zuschreiben and attributeATT · zuschreiben. Constructed diagnostics diagnose the printed Case clothes (accusative MeasureP; dative Account; auf+accusative Account), MeasureP integrity, the Allocator filter, and the FIN / MERIT / ATT root split. They are not spontaneous-speech citations. Duden’s printed example is der überschüssige Betrag wird Ihrem Konto, Ihnen gutgeschrieben.
Constructed examples. Frames below are packaging hypotheses aligned with that Duden cloth, the valence gloss auf ein Konto, the string already printed as contrast on the live MERIT and ATT pages (Der Rat hat jedem Konto 0,3 ETH gutgeschrieben), and the lexical entry’s §3.2 / §5 / §7.2. HAS_ON_BOOKS after the event is e2. Payout / spendability is not entailed — same missing settlement default as English creditFIN. Do not fake elicitation. A bare zu-Account PP is not filed. Dutch FIN is live at credit-fin-nl.html. Norwegian FIN is live at credit-fin-no.html.
Class table · FIN / MERIT / ATT split (named roots). Index 2 does not list a financial credit verb. German Payment cites bezahlen, überweisen (Vol. 7). German Attitude cites beschuldigen, verantwortlich machen, zuschreiben. Surface gutschreiben hosts FIN / ledger. MERIT stays on zuschreiben / light-noun Verdienst at creditMERIT · German. Bare content-ascribe stays on the same letters at attributeATT · German. Like deduct, this root sits Beyond Index 2 as a measuring companion. FIN has MeasureP and Account. MERIT and ATT have neither.
Scout / deferred. Noun Gutschrift and banker companions verbuchen / valutieren share ledger talk; relative productivity against primary gutschreiben is scout-leaning. anrechnen leaks toward merit and is not ranked here. Dutch bijschrijven / crediteren is live at credit-fin-nl.html. Norwegian godskrive is live at credit-fin-no.html. No credit-merit-bg.html and no credit-merit-pl.html. sell·Navajo stays deferred. No fake elicitation.

Hierarchy

Same inventory as English creditFIN. Not five-place. Not four sisters of one V. Surface count can name the bank, 0,3, ETH, each account, and a Q3 threshold — but Amount and Denomination share one Case object, Account is one Recipient / Domain-of-increment, and Reason is high / outer.

Intended labeling (shared English metalanguage)

√CREDIT_LEDGER / INCREMENT + VoiceA(Allocator) + MeasureP ⟨Amount, Denom⟩ + ApplTO(Recipient / Account)  ·  hierarchy Allocator > MeasureP > Rec/Account (> outer Reason)

Voice introduces Allocator (authority over a ledger — bank, board, smart contract, clearing house). MeasureP ⟨n, U⟩ is Incremental Theme of the increment — one Case object (Amount in Spec, Denomination as N). Low Appl_TO / book-Recipient introduces Account. Optional high wegen-Reason is outer justification of the increment, not Charge of MERIT and not Purpose of earmark’s RESTRICT. German Case clothes change which wrapper the Account wears (dative, or auf+accusative). They do not change the inventory and they do not add a DOC.

0,3 ETH = one MeasureP. Orthography is not extra arity (German decimal comma). Amount and Denomination are both inner arguments of that object. Composition is V(MeasureP), not V(n)(U). Hom(e, ⟨n,U⟩): the increment is measured by degree n on scale U.

Working hierarchy: Allocator > MeasureP ⟨Amount, Denomination⟩ > Recipient / Account > Reason. Dative-frame Case ranking is Allocator > MeasureP (ACC) > Account (DAT). The auf-frame keeps MeasureP in the accusative and puts Account under directional auf+accusative. There is no English-style with-frame that promotes Account to a bare accusative. Weather still fails Allocator. Payout is still not entailed. HAS_ON_BOOKS ≠ payout.

German frames · Case clothes

Two clothes on INCREMENT, both with accusative MeasureP. Dative cloth: Account (or the account-holder) in the dative — the cloth Duden prints (Ihrem Konto, Ihnen) and the cloth already used as contrast on credit-merit-de.html and attribute-att-de.html. Directional cloth: auf + accusative Account, the finance gloss auf ein Konto. Bare zu + dative Account is not either printed cloth; it is not filed. zugunsten is an outer beneficiary adjunct when it occurs, not Appl_TO. No DOC of MeasureP + Account (no two accusatives). Do not conflate with MERIT’s dative Target + accusative Charge on zuschreiben — same dative letter, different root, different object.

MeasureP WH / NegQ · LBC, dative, and auf

Unlike creditMERIT and attributeATT, creditFIN has a verbal MeasureP. Amount and Denomination compose one Case object. Whole-QP pied-piping is free under Neg. Amount-only is free when the unit is bound. Left-branch extraction of Amount leaving the unit next to the verb is still out — same LBC record as deduct / sell / chargeFEE / English creditFIN. auf takes the whole Account DP. It does not split the MeasureP. German has no Romance en and no genitive of negation on this root.

Dative Account ≠ MERIT Target · auf-Account ≠ blame auf · accusative MeasureP ≠ Charge

Dative Account = book or account-holder under Appl_TO — not the MERIT/ATT ascribee, even though zuschreiben also takes a dative. auf + accusative Account = directional goal onto the book — not blame’s auf-Charge host, which the live ATT page already rejects for zuschreiben. Accusative MeasureP = quantized ledger increment — not Charge content, not sell Price, not pay Consideration. Shared dative letter across MERIT, ATT, and FIN; different licensers (Appl_TO / √CREDIT_LEDGER vs √ASCRIBE) and different surface verbs (gutschreiben vs zuschreiben).

Superiority ranks Allocator > accusative MeasureP > dative or auf-Account > outer Reason. Amount and Denomination never compete as two verbal WH-items. Cheap NegQ association tracks the accusative MeasureP. Challenging the Account wants that book already under discussion.

Geometry · creditFIN ≠ creditMERIT ≠ attributeATT ≠ deduct ≠ payer

In Der Rat hat jedem Konto 0,3 ETH gutgeschrieben, the board writes 0,3 ETH onto each account’s book. That is ledger INCREMENT, not ascription and not HAVE of goods. The account is Account. 0,3 ETH is MeasureP. HAS_ON_BOOKS holds after the event; spendability / payout is not entailed.

Shells, ApplP, and Case

Base tree (ledger-increment · German · dative Account)

VoiceP [ Allocator = der Rat
(ReasonP) [ wegen der Schwelle ] // optional, outer
  ApplP_TO / book-Rec [ DAT jedes Konto
    VP [ √CREDIT_LEDGER [ MeasureP [ Amount 0,3 ] [ N ETH ] ] ] ]

auf-Account (same geometry · directional wrapper)

VoiceP [ Allocator = der Rat
  ApplP_TO / book-Rec [ auf [ ACC jedes Konto ]
    VP [ √CREDIT_LEDGER [ MeasureP ⟨0,3, ETH⟩ ] ] ]
]
— MeasureP stays ACC; Account wears wrapper-K auf+accusative

German assigns one structural accusative: the MeasureP. The Account is dative, or it wears auf+accusative. There is no second structural accusative and no with-frame that flips Account into a bare accusative. Composition is V(DP), not V(auf(DP)) — same wrapper-K point as the attribute entry (§6.4). No low ApplHAVE of goods. No low ApplSWAP. No √ASCRIBE. High Appl / Affectee / outer Reason is extra when present. Separable gut is the lemma’s prefix (schreibt … gut, gutgeschrieben, gutzuschreiben). It is not a stranded-particle diagnostic of the Norwegian type. Locative auf+dative names where the sum already sits; it is not a second goal frame and is not filed as Appl_TO.

Neo-Davidsonian sketch (entry §7.2)

∃e [ INCREMENT(e)
  ∧ INIT(e, Rat)
  ∧ DEGREE(e, 0.3) ∧ UNIT(e, ETH)
  ∧ TO_SET(e, R) ∧ Hom(e, ⟨0.3, ETH⟩)
  ∧ JUSTIFIED_BY(e, Q3) ] // Reason optional
result: ∀y ∈ R. HAS_ON_BOOKS(y, ⟨0.3, ETH⟩) after e

Replace TO_SET with FROM_SET and INCREMENT with DECREMENT and the deduct entry drops out. The auf-frame does not change the semantics; it changes the wrapper on Account. e2 = HAS_ON_BOOKS; e3 payout is not asserted.

Allocator filter

Culicover & Jackendoff

Inanimate Targets are welcome on MERIT and ATT. Inanimate Allocators fail on FIN unless construed as books or code. An inanimate Account is fine when it is a book (jedem Konto).

N/A · not German FIN diagnostics

Sibling FIN pages omit these where the language does not have them. German FIN matches that list. The werden-passive and the bekommen-passive above are Case-promotion of the printed clothes. They are not the diagnostics named here.

NegQ pointer · association sites

Negative questions on creditFIN keep the FIN map. They do not invent a fifth theta name and they do not create a Charge. Neg sits high and associates downward. Cheap inner associate = the accusative MeasureP. The dative or auf-Account stays oblique. Reason stays outer. Payout / spendability is systematically missing as a default Neg target — same moral as bet’s missing settlement. The polar question below is the string already printed as contrast on the live MERIT and ATT pages.

German NegQ / WH–Neg core (constructed · FIN map)

LBC under Neg

Missing defaults: no payout-true; no spendability as e3. A bare Nein most readily challenges the increment event or the accusative MeasureP. Challenging the Account wants that book already under discussion.
