Scope. If a term below is not exemplified in an opened document, the entry says so. Navajo statements are predictions from the working paper, marked scout.
√ASCRIBE family
The root family of the accuse reading. The Group A paper writes the shared logical form with ASCRIBE(e) and treats light nouns, compounds, and stem classes as derivational packaging of that root, not as extra arguments. English hides it in charge. Japanese names it as kokuhatsu. Mandarin names it as 控告. Navajo is predicted to name it as an ascribe-class stem (scout). The paper’s family note pairs it with blame / ascribe / attribute in English, hinan-suru / kizo-suru in Japanese, 归咎 / 归因 in Mandarin, and a predicted blame-stem (not HANDLE) in Navajo. Impute does not appear in the seed filename inventory and has no entry. See ChargeACCUSE and attribute / ascribe.
Larson shells
In this project, the diagram series whose filenames end in _Larson_Shells (docx and png). They draw argument geometry for a verb, often once for “five arguments” and again by Group A–D. For ChargeACCUSE Group A the working paper treats ChargeACCUSE_GroupA_Larson_Shells as already drawing 1+2 plus a Loc adjunct, and it refuses to restamp that figure. This site does not redraw the shells. A filename that says Larson shells is evidence that a diagram exists in the corpus, not a transcription of it.
MeasureP
The phrase that hosts a unit: a #P, a measure word, or, at the other extreme, a stem that itself is the measuring locus. It belongs to the FEE root. It is not in the ChargeACCUSE numeration. The paper’s diagnostic is negative: E* and F* are vacuous because there is no unit to ask about (*What twenty was Dick charged with; *ikura kokuhatsu-shita; *把二十块控告了迪克). Group A, in the paper’s terms, is the contrast set that moves the FEE unit into a #P, a measure word, or a stem. ACCUSE has no unit, so that movement has nothing to attach to.
Appl
Applicative structure. Appl_FROM is the source / payer applicative of the FEE root (Japanese ni of seikyū; Mandarin 向). It is not in the ChargeACCUSE numeration. Putting that cloth on the accuse verb is a crash (*Dick-ni sagi-o kokuhatsu-shita; *向迪克控告了二十块). The Navajo scout note separately refuses to read inverse as Appl_HAVE or as a HAVE diagnostic. No applicative is posited here beyond those two refusals.
Groups A–D
Cross-linguistic packets in the Tritransitive corpus, not language families invented for this site. The working paper’s division, matched by filename labels in the seed: Group A is the contrast set (headedness and measuring locus vary; arity does not). Group B is the Romance packet (theme vowel and auxiliary). Group C is Inner-European (Focus, cluster, genitive of negation). Group D is Germanic (particle and V2). The paper says Group A waited until B, C, and D were stable, and that the chargeACCUSE derivation circuit across A–D closes in the corpus series. This site transcribes Group A only. “Group A is not a family.”
FEE vs ACCUSE three charge roots
English charge hides more than one root. The working paper says three charge strings, three stems, one English verb. ACCUSE is √CHARGE_ACCUSE / the ascribe stem: Target plus an accusation, no unit. FEE is charge / seikyū / 收 / the levy-stem: the verb that takes the unit. ACCOUNT is the BOOK stem, separated in the Navajo scout note from both levy (FEE) and ascribe (ACCUSE). A fourth contrast in that same note is GIVE (pay), which is not one of the three charge roots. The prepositions do not collapse: with ≠ for, Japanese o ≠ money-o, Mandarin 把 of the Target is the wrong cloth, and TAKE ≠ ascribe.
Packaging
How a language spells one numeration. Derivational packaging of √ASCRIBE is a light noun (kokuhatsu + shi), a listed compound (控告), or a stem class (predicted ascribe-stem). Inflection is T, Asp, Mode, and passive Voice (-ed, -ta, 了, -sare-, 被). Headedness (head-initial, head-final, split-field) and measuring locus change the host. They do not add a fourth argument and they do not grow a MeasureP on √ASCRIBE. Topic and wa are not Spec,T.
1+2 plus Loc
The arity the paper assigns to chargeACCUSE. Judge and Target are the core pair; the accusation is selected (a with-PP, a de-PP, or a bare content NP); the location adjoins. That is not 1+3. Nothing in the numbered Merge list is a fourth argument. Passive copies the Target (was / -sare- / 被 / a predicted detransitive). The accusation does not promote.
Scout / predicted
A packaging hypothesis stated before elicitation. On this site that label belongs to Navajo: one ascribe-class stem, Patient = Target, content as P or the next word, Loc as P, distinct from TAKE / levy, BOOK, and GIVE. The paper lists four open prompts and calls the section “not a derivation.” Schematic strings such as “Tom Dick fraud-P ascribe-stem” are not Navajo data. Constructed Japanese and Mandarin examples are a different flag: the paper treats those derivations as complete and still says the examples diagnose packaging and do not replace elicitation.
VPISH
The working paper’s label on the English movement leg V → v → Voice before the complex raises to T. The Theory Desk brief frames this dictionary as post-VPISH maintenance. The label is not given a separate formal reconstruction on this site.

Roles in the ChargeACCUSE logical form

Used on the deep entry. The names are the paper’s.

Role In the formula English clothes
Judge JUDGE(e, Tom) External argument; nominative; Spec,T after movement. Not the weather.
Target TARGET(e, Dick) Bare accusative. Promotes under passive. Not the accusation.
Accusation CHARGE(e, fraud) Selected with-PP. Stays a PP. Does not become a second object.
Loc LOC(e, filing) Adjunct in-PP. Not selected the way with is.
Not defined here. Platform, Counterparty, and a second Patient are named by the paper only as absent from the ChargeACCUSE numeration. They are not given entries until a transcribed derivation uses them.
