Working paper. Hungarian micro-entry from the Group C plate of Lexical_Entry_Charge_Argument_Structure and the Group C denomination questions in Charge_Denomination_Reading_What_Do_You_Charge. Geometry is the English chargeFEE inventory: √CHARGE_FEE + ApplFROM(Payer/Source, MeasureP ⟨n,U⟩) + Consideration. Focus uniqueness is the same one-preverbal-host plate already used for live jóváír, elismer, tulajdonít, and hibáztat / okol. Printed diagnostics are the denomination strings. Strings tagged constructed illustrate that plate; they are not field elicitation.
Constructed examples. The checked WH set below is the denomination note (Mit számolnak fel?, Miben számolnak fel?, Milyen pénznemben?, Mit számolnak fel egy bitcoinért?, Miben … egy bitcoinért, rejected Mit húsz számolnak fel?). Debit-true / OWE of ⟨n,U⟩ on the Payer is e2. Payment-true is a later fizet / payGIVE, not e2 of this root. Do not fake elicitation.
Beyond Index 2. Index 2 does not list charge. Hungarian Payment cites fizet, átutal (Vols. 3, 6) — not felszámol. This root sits Beyond Index 2 as a measuring companion, the way Spanish cobrar sits beside pagar.
Payer Case open · cloth adopted. Adopted from the Group C note: Focus reads height; fel- separates when Focus or nem takes the single preverbal host; the fee those questions see is accusative (Mit). Not adopted: a ranked Payer Case. The note does not print dative-like -nak/-nek against accusative promotion of the Payer. Neither spelling is a field judgment on this page. Bulgarian таксувам is live at charge-fee-bg.html. Polish obciążyć / naliczyć is live at charge-fee-pl.html and closes Group C FEE. sell·Navajo stays deferred. No credit-merit-bg.html and no credit-merit-pl.html.

Hierarchy

Same inventory as English chargeFEE. Not four-place. Surface count can name the shop, a payer, twenty dollars, and a meal. The lexicon does not list four co-arguments of √CHARGE_FEE / √FELSZÁMOL-.

Intended labeling (shared with English)

√CHARGE_FEE + ApplFROM(Payer/Source, MeasureP ⟨Amount, Denomination⟩) + -ért Consideration

Voice introduces Chargor (NOM). Low ApplFROM introduces Payer/Source. The Group C note says Focus reads height — MeasureP and Payer cannot both be the unique Focus — and does not assign the Payer a Case letter. MeasureP ⟨n, U⟩ is Incremental Theme of the debit, one accusative object (Mit). Consideration is -ért (what the debit is for). miatt is outer Reason. Optional Loc is peripheral.

Twenty dollars is one MeasureP. Amount and Denomination are inner arguments of that object. Composition is V(MeasureP), not V(n)(U). Bare Mit answers the whole QP or a fee-type first. Denomination alone is the marked reading.

Geometry is 1+2 with optional outer Consideration: one Initiator, one applied Source, one measuring object. That is the FROM dual of fizet’s payment. It is not English DOC copied as two accusative Themes, not bet’s 1+3, and not sell’s Price-as-MeasureP.

Working hierarchy: ChargorNOM > Payer/SourceCase open > MeasureP ⟨n,U⟩ACC (> Consideration -ért).

Hungarian frames · particle, accusative MeasureP, Payer open

felszámol is one lemma. fel- looks like a separable fel + számol. It is verbal-particle morphology: it occupies the verb-modifier slot when that slot is empty, and it follows the verb when Focus or nem takes the slot. Separation is Move of the particle. It is not a second predicate and not a new argument. The printed questions already show the separated order, because WH is Focus: számolnak fel, not felszámolnak. számolnak is indefinite 3pl, matching indefinite Mit. A definite fee would take definite conjugation. That alternation is object definiteness, the same cut already used on the live Hungarian pages. The definite fee string is not printed here and is not ranked.

No English double object of Payer + MeasureP as two bare accusative Themes. No genitive of negation — that rewrite belongs to Polish obciążyć. megvádol is the ACCUSE pair on the same plate and a different root (meg- + vádol). Do not merge the particles.

  2. ✓ Miben számolnak fel? printed · U recoding

Cloth this page adopts

Adopted. Accusative MeasureP, because the printed WHAT is Mit. Particle separation under the unique Focus host, because every printed question is számolnak fel. The same separation under nem, because the Group C particle note puts Focus and nem in that one slot. Consideration -ért, printed in egy bitcoinért. Reason miatt is the other letter of that split. A full miatt string is not printed and is not ranked.

Left open. Payer Case. Focus reads height: MeasureP and Payer cannot both be the unique Focus. That height fact does not choose -nak/-nek over accusative promotion. No kinek frame and no promoted-Payer frame is checked or starred as elicited.

Sister root on the same plate

megvádol chargeACCUSE · different root · meg- + vádol

Point the legal neighbour to charge-accuse.html. A fee MeasureP does not sit on megvádol, and an accusation does not sit on felszámol. chargeACCOUNT (to-card Destination) is not given a Hungarian lemma on this plate. Keep it on charge-account.html.

MeasureP WH · denomination diagnostics

WH forces Amount ≠ Denomination inside one accusative MeasureP. Verbal WH sees that object. It does not see unit and degree as two objects of felszámol. WH is Focus, so fel follows the verb. Same MeasureP pattern as English chargeFEE: the MeasureP is the fee, not a Price inside Consideration.

  1. ✓ Mit számolnak fel? printed bare WHAT
  2. ✓ Miben számolnak fel? printed · miben recodes U
  3. ✓ Milyen pénznemben? printed · currency question
  4. ✓ Mit számolnak fel egy bitcoinért? -ért holds Consideration; it does not answer U
  5. ✓ Miben számolnak fel egy bitcoinért? Ufee isolated beside Consideration
  6. * Mit húsz számolnak fel? LBC · sortal mismatch on a stranded numeral
  7. * Mit miben számolnak fel? two unique Focus hosts

Two constraints sit on the stars. Left Branch Condition: Amount lives inside MeasureP; the degree does not extract and leave the unit next to the verb (Mit húsz). Focus uniqueness: Hungarian has one preverbal Focus. Mit and miben cannot both be that host. Rescues are the printed miben / milyen pénznemben questions — the Group C spelling of English in what.

Bare Mit számolnak fel? — three readings (denomination note)

QP (default): the whole MeasureP. First answer.

FEE-type: a sortal name of the fee, or the Consideration. Not U of ⟨n,U⟩.

U (marked): denomination only, in a closed set of units. Miben számolnak fel? and Milyen pénznemben? make that reading fully good. Mit számolnak fel egy bitcoinért? puts U of the fee next to U of the Consideration and makes the U-reading more legible. It does not make U the first answer. -ért on bitcoin is Consideration, not the fee’s denomination.

There is no genitive of negation on this QP. nem does not rewrite Mit into a genitive. Polish obciążyć is the Group C host of that rewrite. It is not this page.

Focus + nem · one host · fel separates

Hungarian has one preverbal Focus position. On felszámol the verb modifier in that slot is the particle fel-. When the slot is empty of Focus and of nem, the particle stays on the stem. When a constituent is the unique Focus, or when nem takes the slot, the particle follows the verb. The particle cannot share the slot. The Group C note calls this “Focus reads height”: MeasureP and Payer are both candidates for that one host, and they cannot occupy it together.

  1. ✓ Mit számolnak fel? printed · Mit is the unique Focus · particle off the stem
  2. ✓ Miben számolnak fel? printed · miben is the unique Focus · particle off the stem
  3. ✓ Nem számolnak fel? verbal nem · no second Focus · particle off · constructed · arguments unfilled
  4. ✓ A parkolóóra felszámol. no preverbal Focus · particle stays · constructed
  5. * Mit miben számolnak fel? two Focus hosts
  6. * Mit felszámolnak? Focus already fills the slot · particle cannot stay on the stem · constructed from the particle note
  7. * Nem felszámolnak? nem takes the slot · particle cannot stay · constructed from the particle note

A filled MeasureP under Focus+nem (the order live jóváír prints as Nem 0,3 ETH-t írtak jóvá…) is the same one-slot grammar. The FEE plate does not print that filled string. It stays unranked. Whether nem sits after a WH Focus (Mit nem számolnak fel?) is likewise unprinted. Open. Height still blocks a Payer phrase and a MeasureP phrase from being unique Focus together. Because Payer Case is open, this page does not star a kinek + mit string as if dative had been chosen.

Geometry · chargeFEE beside the live Hungarian roots

In the FEE geometry the Payer is the person the money comes FROM. In fizet the Recipient is the person the money goes TO. e2 of chargeFEE is debit / OWE of ⟨n,U⟩ on the Payer. A later payment does not have to be true for the levy to be true.

    VP [ fel- √SZÁMOL- [ MeasurePACC [ Amount ] [ N U ] ] ] ] ]
  PP_ért [ -ért [ Consideration ] ] ]

When Focus or nem takes the preverbal slot, fel- follows the verb. That Move is not an argument.

Voice introduces Chargor. ApplFROM introduces Payer. MeasureP sits as Incremental Theme of the debit (accusative). Consideration attaches as -ért. Reason attaches as miatt. There is no Recipient HAVE shell and no English double object of two accusative Themes. Putting either in is how a four-place accident gets written.

Proto-roles are shell-local. Chargor is a partial Proto-Agent (institution, script, meter). Payer is Proto-Source, not Proto-Recipient. MeasureP is Incremental Theme of the debit. Denomination is not a further theta role.

Group C packaging · Hungarian FEE only

Group C (Hungarian, Bulgarian, Polish) is the Inner European Focus / cluster / GEN-neg contrast set already named on chargeFEE · English. Same hierarchy as the English levy. Hungarian hosts the fee as an accusative MeasureP, with one preverbal Focus, separation of fel-, and -ért Consideration. Bulgarian таксувам is the plate’s WH-cluster name (clusters do not split Amount from unit); обвинявам is its ACCUSE pair. Polish obciążyć / naliczyć is the plate’s GEN-neg name (the genitive hits the measure QP or a promoted Payer, not a stranded unit); oskarżyć stays the ACCUSE pair. This page is Hungarian felszámol only. Bulgarian is live at charge-fee-bg.html. Polish is live at charge-fee-pl.html and closes Group C FEE. This page does not open Group D (berechnen / belasten, in rekening brengen, belaste / ta betalt). megvádol stays the ACCUSE pair, unmerged.
