credit_MERIT · 功績を認める (kōseki-o mitomeru)

Hierarchy

Same inventory as English credit_MERIT. Not five-place. Not four sisters of one V. Surface count can name the investors, the early completion, and the contractor — but the lexicon does not list four co-arguments of √ASCRIBE / √MITOME-.

No MeasureP on MERIT. There is no verbal Amount+Denomination object unless Charge itself has been recoded as a share of credit (English lexical entry §5.4 hybrid — flag, do not deepen). Floating counters under negation that split N from Num+# (MeasureP_Japanese_Counters) are irrelevant as verbal MeasureP on MERIT; they matter for FIN 入金する, not here.

What Group A Japanese changes is particle cloth and the already-split MERIT vs FIN roots. What it does not change is the inventory. Weather still satisfies Target and fails Judge. Cause-true is still not entailed. Target and Charge still do not invert at Transfer cost. Double-o is unused by Domain or Account on either root.

Japanese already splits the roots in the lexicon: MERIT 功績を認める / 〜の手柄にする / 帰する versus FIN 入金する / 計上する / 付与する. NegQ under -nakatta ka keeps ACC on Charge (MERIT) or MeasureP (FIN) and ni on Target (MERIT) or Recipient (FIN). This tick deepens MERIT only; FIN strings are pointer contrast.

A bare negative answer on the canonical NegQ most readily challenges the ascription event or the ACC Charge. Challenging the Target wants that individual already under discussion. Negation does not grow a double-object and does not create a MeasureP on MERIT.

Superiority ranks Judge > Charge > Target (to-frame order of the shared metalanguage; with-frame English flips ACC to Target — Japanese default keeps Charge ACC). It does not rank Charge against a silent Purpose, Price, or Theme₂. Cheap NegQ association tracks the Case object: ACC Charge under 認める.

Geometry · mitomeru ≠ nyūkin ≠ uru ≠ blame

In 投資家は早期完成を請負業者に功績として認めた, the investors hold that the contractor is responsible for the early completion under meritorious evaluation. That is ascription, not HAVE of goods and not ledger INCREMENT. The contractor is Target. The early completion is Charge. HOLD is an attitude; MERITORIOUS(Target, Charge) is content, not a presupposed fact.

• ≠ credit_FIN / 入金する. Same surface family of “credit” talk; different root. FIN writes MeasureP TO a Domain (各ウォレットに 0.3 ETH を入金する). MERIT has no MeasureP and no Account. Collapsing them because both can sit next to English credit is the error the lexical entry was written to block. FIN deepened elsewhere — pointer only this tick.
• ≠ English DOC / Transfer invert. There is no productive *請負業者を早期完成を認める DOC. Double-o is unused by Domain/Account and unused as a MERIT DOC cloth.
• ≠ attribute_ATT polarity merge. Shared family (ascribe content to Target) and shared Voice filter; credit_MERIT writes positive / meritorious polarity. English attribute refuses the with-frame that credit licenses; Japanese packaging for attribute_ATT is a later tick.
• ≠ blame / √ASCRIBE_FAULT. Opposite polarity. Blame ascribes fault; credit ascribes merit. Spanish culpar is the fault twin already live; Japanese blame packaging remains scout / deferred.

Japanese MERIT never assigns four structural Cases. Charge is o; Target is ni. No low Appl_HAVE. No low Appl_SWAP. No Appl_TASK. No MeasureP (unless share-of-credit hybrid — flag). High Appl / Affectee is extra when present and is not a listed argument of √ASCRIBE.

Outer CAUSE_G (〜させる) over either MERIT or FIN root is Type A wrap: outer Neg denies the causing; the causee, not the weather, is the Judge. *天気に請負業者へ功績を認めさせなかったのか keeps the inner Voice filter. Type A climbing unions Voice domains; Charge stays content and never climbs as a dative MeasureP.
